Use common layer names  This allows objects to be used in more than one drawing type. For example the wall lines can be used in the floor plan, reflected ceiling plan, electrical plan, etc. See Using common layer names
Grouping of common layers Try to keep layers that are common to several layer schemes in the same location so it will be easier to find them quickly.
